What do you get in Ujjwala 2.0?

PMUY 2.0 is an upgrade over the old scheme. If you apply now, you get three things absolutely Free of Cost:

Benefit Details
1. Deposit-Free Connection No security deposit needed for the cylinder or regulator.
2. First Refill Free The first gas cylinder comes filled (worth approx ₹900).
3. Free Hotplate A standard gas stove is provided free of cost.

Who is Eligible?

The applicant must be a Woman (18+ years) belonging to a BPL household. You must fall into one of these categories:

  • SC / ST Households.
  • Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Beneficiaries.
  • Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Ration Card holders.
  • Forest Dwellers / Tea Garden Tribes.
  • Any Poor Household (as per 14-point declaration).

Special Rule for Migrant Workers

Are you living in a city for work but your Ration Card is at your village home? No problem.

Under Ujjwala 2.0, you do NOT need to submit a Ration Card or Address Proof of your current city. You can simply submit a “Self-Declaration” citing your current address. This makes it easy for laborers and daily wage workers to get gas connections.

How to Apply Online (Step-by-Step)

You can apply for Indane, HP, or Bharat Gas from a single portal.

Step 1: Visit Official Portal

Go to pmuy.gov.in.

Step 2: Choose Distributor

Click on “Apply for New Ujjwala 2.0 Connection”. You will see three logos: Indane, Bharat Gas, and HP Gas. Click on “Click Here to Apply” under your preferred brand.

Step 3: Fill Form & KYC

Register with your mobile number, fill in personal details, Aadhaar Number, and Bank details for the subsidy. Select the “Self-Declaration” option if you are a migrant.
